Membership and Sponsorship

You can join handbridge.com and have a say in how the site is run, as well as receiving a number of membership benefits. Membership is open to any business, individual or other organisation resident in Handbridge and Queens Park (defined as all CH4 7xx postcodes east of The Duke's Drive).

Businesses outside this area, but located in Chester and district unfortunately cannot be members, but are welcome to sponsor the site with an advert for a nominal sum. See below for details.

By becoming a supporting member or sponsor, you are helping to keep the site running. The site is run on a not for profit basis, so after all the setup and running costs have been covered, any profits will be retained to develop the site. If any profits remain, then we will donate these as a grant to a local project, to be selected by the committee and members.

Individuals and Families

Individual membership gives you two of your own memorable, personalised, handbridge.com Email addresses. This is yours for the duration of your membership. You can access it using any of the popular Windows or Apple Mac Email client programs or remotely via our secure webmail service. Alternatively, you can have your handbridge.com Email address redirected to an existing Email address that you already own.

You will also be able to submit your own news stories and other articles, add your own events to the diary and come to our meetings and social events.

Individual membership costs just £5 p.a. and other members of the same household may have individual Email addresses for an additional £2 each p.a. up to a maximum of 4 per household.

Businesses

Any business in Handbridge and Queens Park is entitled to a free entry in the business directory, with contact details and a link to their site.

Business membership provides additional benefits for any business located in Handbridge and Queens Park. For £10 p.a. you get your own web pages within the site, which you can edit yourself. Our pages also provide a contact form where we can provide a form for people to contact you, without having to publish your Email address on the site, thus reducing the likelihood of you receiving spam mail. Your pages will also easy to remember web address in the form of www.handbridge.com/yourbusiness  and the alias of yourbusiness.handbridge.com

We also provide you with 2 handbridge.com Email addresses and additional ones may be purchased for £3 p.a.

To promote your business, you can also get a banner advert on the site, which will appear randomly on pages viewed. We will also provide a "we're on handbridge.com" window sticker and the option of a banner advert which will appear randomly at the bottom of pages on the site. If you opt for a banner advert, we will Email you a quarterly update which will show the number of times your advert has appeared and the number of viewers who have clicked on it to redirect to your own pages.

A maximum of 1 additional banner advert, utilising a different graphic, may be purchased for an additional £6 p.a.

Other Organisations

For £5 p.a. not for profit organisations get the same benefits as businesses, at a reduced rate. Additional Email addresses are available at the special rate of £2 p.a.

Sponsors

Businesses, and other organisations, located in Chester and district (CH1 to CH4 postcodes) outside Handbridge and Queens Park, may sponsor handbridge.com with a banner advert for £10 p.a. which will redirect to your own website.

Out Of Area Organisations, Other Adverts, Affiliate and Pay-Per-Click Programs
