Queen's Park Residents Association

Queen's Park Suspension Bridge

Queen's Park Resident's Association is an active association representing residents in the historic suburb of Queen's Park. The area was developed in Victorian times and at one time boasted its own brewery! The suburb is connected to the City of Chester by the famous Queen's Park Suspension Bridge, the current one dating from 1922.

Along with the rest of Handbridge, the area has been under considerable pressure from development during the last decade. With the current uncertainty over the future of the Bank of Scotland site, proposals by Queens Park High School to sell part of their land for housing development and the imminent University move to County Hall, the pressure is set to continue.

The association is apolitical and campaigns solely on the facts. Our committee members regularly represent residents at meetings with the Council, Police, utility companies, local businesses, schools and other interested parties.

In the past, we have been successful in negotiating changes to development plans to ensure the minimal impact on local residents.
