Terms and Conditions of Usage and Submission of Material

This agreement, subject to the laws of England, is made between you (as viewer and submitter of material) and us (handbridge.com).

Geographic Definition

Free submission to the site is available to any qualifying business or other organisation serving Handbridge, Chester.  We define Handbridge to be any address with a CH4 7xx postcode within an area bounded by the River Dee and Wrexham Road.

Copyright

All articles on handbridge.com remain the copyright of the author.  By submitting an article, you give us permission to publish it, but you retain ownership.  You may ask us to withdraw an article at any time.

You may not use any images or content on the website without our permission and the permission of the author if it is a third party article.  If we do give such permission, you must acknowledge the source and provide a link to our site.

Unsolicited Email

You must not use, or allow to be used, any handbridge.com Email address for the purpose of sending unsolicited bulk (spam) Email messages.  Any breach of this condition will result in the immediate termination of your membership without refund.

We reserve the right, at our discretion, to immediately suspend any membership that we believe may be being used for such purposes, pending investigation.

Privacy

If you join the website, we will only use your information to send you notices about updates and changes to the site.  We will NEVER pass your information on to any third party.

Impartiality

handbridge.com will, at all times, remain impartial and apolitical.  In reporting items of a political nature, we will endeavour to report the facts and events, without stating an opinion.  We will not accept any submission which we believe to be obscene, indecent, sexist, racist, defamatory or in breach of copyright. 

Political Parties and similar organisations, serving the area, provided that the party's policies are not in breach of the above submission guidence, are welcome to publicise their local branch, and any events which they may be holding.  However, we cannot accept any article which is seen to promote any particular party.

Our decision, on whether to accept a submission for publication, is final.

Indemnity

In submitting an article, you indemnify us against any action due to breach of copyright, libel or defamation.  By submitting the article, we will assume that you are the copyright owner or have the owner's permission to publish.

Complaints

If you wish to complain about any article on the website, please do so via the contact us form.  We will investigate the complaint and keep you informed of progress.  If we find an article to be in breach of our terms and conditions, it will be removed.  We may allow the article to be replaced if the offending content within it is replaced.

Data Protection

Handbridge.com collects personal data about registered users and visitors to the site. IP log information is used solely for the purposes of statistical analysis and the investigation of abuse. Information about registered users is collected and used soley for the purpose of administering secure access to member only sections of the site. Collected Email addresses are only used to contact members about site related matters and managing subscriptions. Handbridge.com never passes any data to third parties, other than as may be required by law.

As a closed not for profit association, handbridge.com is exempt from registration under the Data Protection Acts as our data and purposes fall within the allowed exemptions. See the Exemption Guidance on the ICO Website for further information.

If you require a copy of the information we hold about you, or wish your information to be removed, please contact us with your registered user name and/or the Email address with which you registered.

Accessing the Site Outside the UK

We would like to make the site freely available throughout the World. However, our priority is the safety and security of the website and its users. Our recent experience with hackers and spammers abusing our site has led us to block access to the site from the following countries: Brazil, China, India, North Korea, Russian Federation, Ukraine and Vietnam. The site will not be viewable in those countries. We reserve the right to add further countries to this list if circumstances dictate.
